Leadership group
The Clayton Leadership Group will meet at Mount Vernon Christian Church at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21. Discussion topics include: Update on meetings with the Town of Clayton on resources available to youth; raising money for the Cooper Elementary School playground; and supporting other groups that are working on youth issues. The church is located at 300 North Lombard Street, Clayton.
Wild game dinner
Aversboro Road Baptist Church will host a wild game dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. The event's exotic fare includes rattlesnake stew, alligator, elk and deer. Hot dogs and hamburgers will also be served. The guest speaker wll be actor Doug Whitley. Tickets are $5. All proceeds go toward the men's ministry's outreach programs. Winterfest
New Bethel Baptist Church in Garner will host its WinterFest 2010 on Feb. 6. The event will feature large ice sculptures, outdoor games and a lighting ceremony. Sculpture carving starts at 2 p.m. and outdoor events are from 5 till 8 p.m. The church is located at 2110 Benson Road, Garner. For more details, call 919-609-8490.
New Hill
New Hill Missionary Baptist Church now has worship services at 11 a.m. on the first, second and third Sunday of every month. The church is on Fire Department Road near Clayton.
Horne Memorial UMC
Golden Gates, a musical youth group from Russia, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, in the fellowship hall at Horne Memorial United Methodist Church, 121 E. 2nd St., Clayton. Brunch for women
"Women With Many Hats," a brunch, is scheduled from 10 a.m. till noon Saturday, Jan. 23, at Kingdom Builders Fellowship, 9182 Cleveland Road in the Cleveland community. Pastor Shree Daniels of Power of His Presence Ministries in Greenville will speak. Women are encouraged to wear hats.
