Godwin receives award

Chris Godwin was recently awarded the statewide Distinguished Service Award by the North Carolina Association for the Gifted and Talented. Godwin is a statewide consultant at the state Department of Public Instruction and currently serves as the executive director for Johnston County Schools Regular and Gifted Education.

Workshop for parents

The Johnston County Schools Exceptional Children Program will host the upcoming workshop Family Adventures in Reading: A Workshop for Parents of Exceptional Children on March 11. Parents can attend two different sessions. The first is from 9:30 till 11:30 a.m. at the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield; the second is from 6 till 8 p.m. at Selma Elementary School.
