'State of Clayton'

The Triangle Business Journal will present "The State of Clayton" at 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at The Clayton Center, 111 E. 2nd St., Clayton. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $25.

The program will feature a five-person panel: Town Manager Steve Biggs; Katharine Neal of the N.C. Department of Commerce; Mary Kuhn, executive vice president of Talecris Biotherapeutics; Bobby Lewis of the N.C. Department of Transportation; and Jackie Rin, chief operating officer of Johnston Medical Center in Clayton.

Techno cleaning

In conjunction with Earth Day, WingSwept, a Garner-based information technology firm, will host its second annual Technology Spring Clean.

"Our technology spring clean event was organized to make it easy and worry-free for area businesses and citizens to drop off and recycle their old technology equipment," said Jay Strickland, president of WingSwept.

The event will happen from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. April 17, at 951 Heather Park Drive, Garner. The purpose of the event is to recycle computer hardware.

Dog day care

Lucky Paws, a day care center for dogs, has opened in Clayton. The business offers a 4,000-square-foot indoor play area and an adjoining outdoor yard.

Jeannie McCarraher of Clayton has been promoted to team leader with Tastefully Simple Inc., a direct seller of easy-to-prepare foods. She earned the promotion through sales and by adding new consultants to the team.
