Clayton man held on drug charges

Clayton police have charged a man with "doctor shopping" for prescription drugs.

Over a 30-day period, police said, a man obtained five overlapping prescriptions for Hyrdocodone and Oxycodone from six doctors.

Barry Franklin Brisson, 39, of 109 Glen Laurel Road, Clayton, faces five felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and five felony counts of trafficking in opiates.

Bond for Brisson was set at $500,000.

Census help

Starting March 19, the Town of Garner will host several upcoming meetings to help residents learn more about filling out the 2010 U.S. census.

There will be three questionnaire assistance centers and one "be counted" center. The questionnaire centers will help residents answer the 10-question form, and the "be counted" center is the place to pick up a form if you didn't receive one in the mail.

For questionnaire assistance, go to the following locations:

Garner Town Hall, 900 7th Ave. Times: 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Garner Town Hall is also the location to get a census form if you didn't receive one in the mail.

Garner Senior Center, 205 E. Garner Road. Times: 1 till 5 p.m. Monday; 9 a.m. till noon Tuesday; 4 till 7 p.m. Thursday; and 9 a.m. till noon Friday.

Southeast Regional Library, 908 7th Ave. Times: 5 till 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; and 2 till 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

All centers will be open until April 19.
