'Fiddler on the Roof'
The production "Fiddler on the Roof," performed by the Clayton Youth Theater, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, and 2 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at The Clayton Center, 111 E. 2nd St. Tickets are $11 for adults and $6 for students. Artist workshop
A workshop for artists is scheduled from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Eye of the Eagle Art, 131 E. 1st St., Clayton. The workshop, led by David Sciabarasi, Janie Prete and Donna Light, costs $50. Sciabarasi is a professional architectural and commercial photographer with a studio in Raleigh. Prete is a professional watercolorist with a studio in Clayton, and Light is a graphic designer, website designer and co-owner of the Eye of the Eagle Art Center. Registration is required. 'Beauty and the Beast'
The Towne Players' teens and kids program will present Disney's "Beauty and The Beast Junior" Aug. 5-7 in the Garner Historic Auditorium, 742 W. Garner Road, Garner. Fiber art in Clayton
Fiber art by Michelle Bonds of Raleigh will be on display Aug. 1-30 at Eye of the Eagle Art Gallery, 131 E. 1st St., Clayton. A reception for the artist is scheduled from 6:30 till 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6. Bonds' work has apeared in the magazines Cloth Paper Scissors, Sew Somerset and Art Doll Quarterly. "I created mixed-media art and jewelry, with a focus on recycled materials, including dryer sheets, paper, paper towels, aluminum cans and bottle caps, along with hand-dyed and painted fibers and fabrics," the artist said. 'Illusions of the King'
Keith Henderson will present his Elvis tribute, "Illusions of the King," at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium at Johnston Commuity College, 245 College Road, Smithfield. Ava tickets on sale
Tickets are on sale for the 2010 Ava Gardner Festival Gala on Friday, Oct. 8, at the museum, 325 E. Market St., Smithfield. Tickets are $50 and include a sneak peak at the museum's next exhibit, "Ava on the Small Screen," about the late actress's television roles. Ava Museum
On Thursday, Aug. 5, the Ava Gardner Museum in Smithfield will offer "buy one, get one free" admission. The promotion is a tribute to director John Huston on what would have been his 104th birthday. Huston and Ava Gardner worked together on a number of films, including "The Night of the Iguana." The museum is located at 325 E. Market St. Hours are 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2 till 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and groups and $4 for children.
Music in Clayton

Lunch Bunch continues
The next performance of the 26th season of Music for the Lunch Bunch series is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. (Wednesday, July 28) at First Baptist Church, 308 N. Lombard St., Clayton. Anna Lee Crumpton will perform on the harp.
"The styles of Anna's lyrical harp have wowed Lunch Bunch audiences for many years. We are excited to have Anna bring her music and storytelling to Clayton," said Darlene Williford, executive director of the Johnston County Arts Council.
The Music for the Lunch Bunch is a series of summer concerts held every Wednesday, featuring local artists performing a variety of music, with particular emphasis on classical music. The concert series is funded by the Johnston County Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council. There is no admission charge, but donations are accepted.
