VBS at Garner Church of Christ

Vacation Bible School is scheduled from 6 till 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, Aug. 1-5, at Garner Church of Christ, 1364 Benson Road, Garner.

The theme for this year's event is "Hero Headquarters."

VBS at Hayes Chapel

Vacation Bible School is scheduled from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Hayes Chapel Christian Church, 315 E. Garner Road, Garner. Bring a swimsuit. The church will serve lunch.

Women's group

Sisters Sharing the Savior, a women's group, will begin its new year Sept. 7. Meetings are from 9:30 till 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Christ Community United Methodist Church on Amelia Church Road in Clayton.

This year's study will be the Book of Galatians. Child care is available at all meetings. For more information, call Dana Schaefer at 272-2655.

VBS at Amelia

Vacation Bible School is scheduled from 6 till 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 9-13, at Amelia Christian Church on Amelia Church Road in Clayton.

VBS is for pre-kindergarten through ninth grade. The church will serve dinner at 5:30 each evening.

Evangelist to speak

Evangelist Hattie Lofton of Smithfield will speak at 7:30 p.m. July 28-30 at Deliverance Center Church on Keenan Week Road, Newton Grove.

She will speak at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton.
