Chamber women's luncheon

The Garner Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its women's luncheon from 11:30 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Rand-Bryan House, 2518 Benson Road, Garner.

The speaker will be Progress Energy's Hilda Pinnix-Ragland, who will speak on the role women play in breaking down barriers in the workplace. Pinnix-Ragland serves on the board of governors of RTI International and the Wake Education Foundation board of trustees, is past chairwoman of the State Board of Community Colleges, and has wo a number of awards.
