Awana registration

Thanksgiving Baptist Church is now registering children for its Awana program.

Awana, a worldwide discipleship group for pre-kindergarten through young children, will begin at the church from 5 till 6:30 p.m.

The church is located at 6701 N.C. 42, two miles east of the Buffalo Road intersection, near Clayton.

Beth Moore simulcast

"Living Proof," a live broadcast of a women's event hosting author and teacher Beth Moore, is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. till 5 p.m. Sept. 18, at First Baptist Church of Garner, 601 Saint Mary's St. The cost is $25.

Women's group

Sisters Sharing the Savior, a women's group, will begin its new year Sept. 7. Meetings are from 9:30 till 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Christ Community United Methodist Church on Amelia Church Road in Clayton.

This year's study will be the Book of Galatians. Child care is available at all meetings. For more information, call Dana Schaefer at 272-2655.

VBS at Amelia

Vacation Bible School is scheduled from 6 till 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 9-13, at Amelia Christian Church on Amelia Church Road in Clayton.

VSB is for pre-kindergarten through ninth grade. The church will serve dinner at 5:30 each evening.

Stillwater to sing

The Stillwater Quartet will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at Thanksgiving Baptist Church, 6701 N.C. 42, two miles east of Buffalo Road near Clayton.

In 2006, the group was grand champion of the State Annual Singing Convention in Benson. Members are Walter McLaurin, Mike Izzell, Lauren Izzell and Chuck Furr.

Sanders Grove

A celebration of Family and Friends Day is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at Sanders Grove Baptist Church on N.C. 210 west of Smithfield.

Pastor Oliver Johnson Jr. will speak. Lunch will follow the service.

Revival in Clayton

Revival services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Aug. 12-13, at First Missionary Baptist Church at the corner of Lombard and Stallings streets in Clayton.

The Rev. Addie Rawls will speak Thursday, and the Union Hill AME Male Chorus will sing. The Rev. Christine Allen, pastor of Mount Zion Church of Deliverance, will speak Friday, and the Mt. Vernon Christian Church Male Chorus will sing.

New Hill Baptist

Revival services are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11-13 at New Hill Baptist Church, 2591 Fire Department Road, Clayton.

The Rev. Richard Mercer will speak. He is pastor of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Saratoga.
