Air Force trains Lemacks
Air Force Airman Gregory M. Lemacks graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Lemacks is the son of Robin Lemacks and nephew of Tina Swart of Hanlith Court, Clayton.
Lemacks completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Canaday completes basic training
Army National Guard Pfc. Jeremy L. Canaday has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
Canaday is the son of Durwood Canaday of Federal Road, Benson, and Becky Uzzle of Kelly Court, Clayton.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat and field maneuvers and tactics.
Canaday graduated in 2000 from Clayton High School.
Army trains Sanborn
Army Pvt. Amanda L. Sanborn has graduated from the Automated Logistical Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.
Sanborn is the daughter of Antonio and Alfreda A. Parrilla of Hartwood Glen Circle, Willow Spring.
The course is designed to train soldiers to establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, materiel control, accounting and support reports, automated and manual accounting records; perform stock record/warehouse functions pertaining to receipt, storage, distribution and issue and maintain equipment records and parts; review and verify bills of contracts, and purchase orders; repair and construct shipping crates for equipment and supplies, and perform prescribed loads and shop stock lists in manual and automated supply applications.
Sanborn is a 2001 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, Angier.
