Army trains Stair

Army Pfc. Adam J. Stair has graduated from the Basic Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

Stair is the son of William E. and Dona J. Stair of Neuse Landing Drive, Clayton.

The course is designed to train service members to maintain, prepare and load ammunition for firing; operate and perform operator maintenance on prime movers, self-propelled Howitzers and ammunition vehicles; store, maintain and distribute ammunition to using units as a member of battery or battalion ammunition section; perform crew maintenance and participate in organizational maintenance of weapons and related equipment; and establish and maintain radio and wire communications.

Air Force trains Arrington Jr.

Air Force Airman Gregory W. Arrington Jr. graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Kimberly Tingle of Wakeland Drive, Garner, and Gregory Arrington Sr. of Vineland, N.J.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Arrington is a 2008 graduate of Garner Magnet High School.

Moreland completes basic training

Air Force Airman Zachary A. Moreland graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Leslie Moreland of Presley Boulevard, Garner, and grandson of Nancy Myers of Strasburg, Ohio.

The airman completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Moreland is a 2008 graduate of West Johnston High School.
