Fundraiser

New Bethel Baptist Church is planning to host a craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Nov. 9, at 2110 Benson Road, Garner. The church needs vendors for this event. Email Ruby Pearce at seweager@aol.com.

Turkey shoot

Elizabeth United Methodist Church will hold its annual turkey shoot from 5-10 p.m. Nov. 9, 16, and 23, at 4269 Cleveland Road, Smithfield. Cost is $4 per shot or six shots for $20. Participants will shoot targets for a chance to win a turkey. Refreshments will be for sale, including chili, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, baked goods and coffee. Boston butts

Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Men of the Church are selling hickory smoked Boston butts, cooked and packaged, at 4 p.m. Nov. 23, at 4926 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh. The butts are $25 each, and must be preordered by Nov. 12. For more information or to place an order, call 919-772-4611.

Hanging of the Green

A “Hanging of the Green” service will take place at 6 p.m. Nov. 24, at Aversboro Road Baptist Church, 1600 Aversboro Road, Garner. Seasonal music will be provided, and questions about the meaning of Christmas and holiday traditions will be discussed. For more information, call 919-779-2811.

Surviving the Holidays

“Surviving the Holidays” will take place from 9-11:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3414 M. Shiloh Road, Garner. This one-day event will help those who have lost a loved one face the holidays with hope and joy. Light refreshments will be served, and childcare is available upon request. Church bazaar

A church bazaar will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 23 at Oakland Presbyterian Church, 8927 Cleveland Road, Clayton. Homemade food and craft items will be available for sale. The church will also serve breakfast and lunch items to eat in or take out. A Secret Santa Workshop will be held for children. For more information, call 919-934-5476.

Support groups

Shiloh Baptist Church hosts GriefShare and DivorceCare support groups from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 3414 N. Shiloh Road, Garner. There is no cost, and participants may enter at any session. Child care is available upon request. For more information, visit www.shilohgarner.org.

Bible studies

• The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints hosts a New Testament Bible study Thursdays at 7 p.m. at 1433 Aversboro Road, Garner. The group is ongoing. For more information, visit mormonbiblestudy.wordpress.com.
