Parents: Randy and Cindy Bryan

High School: Garner

Travel Team: N.C. Challengers

Why UNCW? “The whole atmosphere of the place was great. The layout of the campus, with all of the classes really close together and being close to the beach is a bonus.”

Also Considered: Lenoir-Rhyne, Mount Olive, Guilford, Lincoln Memorial

Major: Exercise Science

Notable: Kelsey has started in the infield for three years at Garner, manning second base as a freshman and a sophomore before shifting over to shortstop last season. She will likely be used at first as a utility infielder at UNCW. ... One of her most rewarding moments with the Trojan program is an older memory: making the varsity squad as a freshman. But her two triple game in a win over East Wake last season is a really solid highlight as well. “I just played a really good game overall,” she recalled. ... Championships were also a part of her fall season at Garner as a member of the Trojans GNRC volleyball championship squad. ... Kelsey values the growth she’s experienced at Garner. “The whole game, every game is a learning experience,” she said. “You want to learn something new every game and I really feel like we do that here.”
