Catching Fire at Cleveland Middle

Cleveland Middle School recently held a "Catch the End Hunger" food drive for Clayton Area Ministries. The theme of the collection effort was based on the popular "Hunger Games" series by Suzanne Collins, and the students competed against each other to see who could bring in the most items.

The winning homeroom was Wanda Morgan’s. Her students collected 287 cans of food. Overall, the students at Cleveland Middle School collected more than 2,300 canned goods.

Safety task force

Luke Stancil, a junior at Corinth Holders High, has been appointed to serve on Gov. Pat McCrory’s Task Force on Safer Schools. The task force will provide guidance to the Center for Safer Schools and consider future policy and legislative action that is needed to improve school safety in North Carolina.
