Parents: Ronnie and Pam Adams

High School: Garner

Club Team: Carolina Soccer Club

Positions: Forward, Midfield

Why UNCW? “I really liked the campus and it’s near the beach. I like that it’s small but it’s still a great college atmosphere.”

Also Considered: Coastal Carolina

Major: Elementary Education

Notable: Bayleigh led Garner with in points (37), tied for the team lead in goals (14) and was second in assists (9) last season. … Although she’ll continue to bounce back and forth from the midfield to up front at forward for Garner, and could do the same for the Seahawks next fall, she likes being in the midfield more. “I just like being in the middle of everything,” she said. … Somehow Bayleigh didn’t turn into a softball standout despite her parents’ backgrounds (Ronnie Adams and Pam Atkins Adams) as standouts at Garner with the bat and ball sports. “I played both until middle school and I had to pick one because the seasons were at the same time,” Bayleigh said. “I picked soccer because it was so much less more boring. I wasn’t standing out in the field waiting for something to happen.” … Pam Adams knew she’d spend more weekends on soccer fields than on softball diamonds when Bayleigh, while playing on a team Ronnie was coaching, decided to go get a hot dog during a softball game. You know, since she was just waiting for her turn to hit and there was nothing else to do. … Bayleigh will remember the fun of playing for Garner most of all: “I just like having a school team, playing with your friends from school. It’s been so much fun.”
