Joshua Hayward Godbold of 1319 Sycamore Drive in Garner was arrested Friday, March 7, for attempting to sell a Schedule III substance to an undercover Wake County officer out of the suspect’s home, according to arrest warrants. The home faces Jaycee Park and is within 1,000 feet of Vandora Springs Elementary School.
The arrest came just two days after Wake County Sheriff deputies executed a warrant at the home and charged Bryce Killian Bonilla, with possession of cocaine and heroin.
The home was the scene of an incident last April when Wake sheriff’s deputies shot a chained but agressive dog during a drug raid last April that yielded a marijuana citation and no arrests. Bonilla’s mother, Pam Bonilla, who owns the home, complained that the shooting and the raid were unnecessary; the Sheriff’s office maintained that protocol was followed by the book.
In the latest incident Godbold, 26, was in possession of suboxone, according to warrants. The prescription drug is used to help with narcotic addiction, but it is not considered a painkiller.
Police also named the incarcerated Bonilla as a conspirator in Godbold’s attempt to sell and deliver suboxone.

Bonilla was released from prison in July 2012 after serving four months on car break-in and drug charges. He has prior drug convictions in 2008 and 2009, and was convicted of simple assault and possession of a concealed weapon in 2006.
In 2006, at 18 years old, Godbold was found guilty of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and public swearing or intoxication. He was also charged with unlawful possession of alcoholic beverages, but court records did not show if he was found guilty.
Godbold is being held under $78,000 bond. Bonilla is being held on $82,000 bond.
