Legends of Country come to Country Music Showcase

Country Music Showcase celebrates Legends of Country, Bluegrass and Blues with a show early next month.

The show features The Malpass Brothers April 4 and 5, with songs from the Statler Brothers (Flowers on the Wall), David Frizzell and Shelly West (You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma), Darius Rucker (Wagon Wheel), Etta James (I’d Rather Go Blind) and Buck Owens (Roll in My Sweet Baby’s Arms).

CMS is an opportunity for aspiring artists to perform in a state-of-the-art facility with a professional band and back-up singers in a two-day-multiple show stint. Guest performers participate in a week of intense rehearsals which culminates into a full-length stage performance showcasing the talents of each guest performer.

The show opens at 7 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium on the main campus of Johnston Community College. Additional shows are scheduled for 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5, with the pre-show beginning approximately 20 minutes before show time.

Individual evening show tickets are $12.50 in advance and $15 at the door. Matinee show tickets are $10 in advance and $12.50 at the door. Tickets are available online at www.jccperformingarts.com and through the JCC Box Office by calling 919-209-2099 Monday through Friday from 1:30 to 5:p.m.
