Frances Finch Hobart award accepting nominations

March 28, 2014

The Johnston County Community Foundation announced this week that it will accept nominations for the 2014 Frances Finch Hobart Award for Volunteer Community Service. Nominations are due by Tuesday, April 22.

The Frances Finch Hobart Award for Volunteer Community Service Fund was established in honor of Frances Finch Hobart for her commitment to voluntary community service. The award seeks to recognize an individual who possesses the ability to help others solve social problems through time, talent and energy.

Hobart is a passionate volunteer committed to making her community a better place for all people to enjoy life. She has trained and coordinated countless volunteers and her involvement spans from the arts to health and human services, politics to bird study, and church service to public service. This award seeks to identify an individual who has the ability to mobilize volunteers and displays a willingness for on-going involvement. Much like Hobart, the recipient should demonstrate vision, vitality, determination, selflessness, generosity and a full caring heart.

Applications are available online at (look under “Affiliates / Johnston County”).
