Pirates, Stephenson dominate at Carolina Lakes

Three Corinth Holders’ golfers posted scores of 81 or lower to help the Pirates win a Two Rivers 3A Conference boys golf match at Carolina Lakes on Thursday. Corinth Holders finished at 324, 16 shots ahead of Cleveland.

South Johnston sophomore Patrick Stephenson was the individual medalist with a 1-under-par, 71. He was the only golfer to break par on the afternoon, winning by six strokes.

Sam Baxter and Monty Fields both shot 80s for Corinth Holders, while Nick Routhier added an 81. Cleveland was led by Jarred Lisec’s 78 and an 86 from Morgan Berger.

South was third at 345 and Smithfield-Selma came in sixth. Ethan Faulconer shot 86 to pace SSS.
