Benson voice camp offers free lessons

May 9, 2014

The inaugural Free Vocal Summer Camp will be held July 28 through August 2 at the W.J. Barefoot Auditorium, 305 E. Church St., Benson. The camp will be for students 6-14 years old who are dedicated to expanding their vocal performance skills and goals.

The camp will be led by recording artist Amanda Daughtry. “It has always been one of my dreams to use my abilities and success to give back to the community,” said Daughtry. “I want to make a difference in helping children who might need some guidance in their progression that they currently do not have any mentoring for.”

Local sponsors are still being finalized for the camp and with help from the Benson Parks and Recreation Department, the camp will be able to use the auditorium at a minimal cost.

Applications can be filled out and mailed to the address included in the form. To obtain an application visit amandadaughtry.com or email vocalsummercamp@gmail.com. All applications must be received by May 31.
