Garner performers dance their way to victory

The Center Stage School of Performing Arts dance teams recently completed their regional competition season at the Marvonna Dance Competition at Louisburg College. Center Stage took the overall award for sportsmanship, with all group performances placing in the top three of their respective categories.

The Junior Tap Team won in the Junior Small Groups category for their dance “Sea Cruise;” the combined clogging teams won in the Junior Overall Line category for their dance “Calypso;” the Junior Jazz Team won in the Senior Overall Line Category for their dance “Cruisin for a Bruisin;” and the senior clogging team won in the Senior Small Group category for their dance “Workout Plan,” where they also won the award for Most Entertaining.

At the Showstoppers Competition, all group dances placed in the top five in every category, with the combined junior and senior jazz teams winning the Teen Advanced Supergroup Category with their dance “Applause,” and the Senior Jazz team winning the Advanced Senior Large Group Category with their dance “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.”
