Parents: Marty and Debbie McLamb

High School: West Johnston

Travel Team: J.C. Clippers

Positions: Pitcher, First Base

Also Considered: Methodist, Mount Olive, Barton

Why Peace? “I like the coaching staff and the classroom environment and the fact that it was close to N.C. State.”

Notable: Katelyn helped West Johnston reach the state semifinals as a junior and has been a key contributor again this season. … On the mound, she adds a screwball to the usual fastball, change-up, curveball, rise and drop ball rotation. The curveball, she says, is her go to pitch. …. Katelyn wants to improve her speed and get better as using her legs pitching as she gets ready for college ball. … She’s undecided on a college major at this point. … “The team is what I’ll remember most about West Johnston softball,” she said. “Through everything we always come back to being a family and we really pull for each other.”
